# How to read a record — Mid-size federal contractors — the last 12 months

> What the record is, what the status means, and what is left out.

## How to read these records

### The record

Every federal contract is published on USAspending.gov. This site keeps the companies that received between $500,000 and $60 million in contract obligations over the last twelve months — the mid-size contractors — with their Unique Entity ID, headquarters, size category and parent company.

### Status

Received federal contract obligations in the last 12 months. Amounts are obligations over the last twelve months on the collection date, not revenue and not a ranking. Larger and smaller contractors are not on this site. What the federal file says about a company's owner (origin, sex, veteran status) is not shown.

### What is not here

Individuals, and any name without a company word (Inc, LLC, Corp, Co…). Owner and contact names, phone numbers
and mailing addresses, which this site never downloads.

**For owners and managers: does
your company have 30 to 200 employees?**

AI labs pay companies to license their internal workflows (SOPs,
documentation, support tickets), anonymized and under contract. You keep ownership and pay nothing.

**Describe your company in 2 minutes →**
Offered by Registres, an independent data gateway. Not affiliated with the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
